The top side of the "fuzzy" leaves of the
Asclepias oenotheroides are a dull, dark matte
green.  The leaves usually have wavy edges and
are a lighter green underneath.

In the flower, the hoods and horns reach upward
while the petals droop downward.  The petals are
a light green with the hoods and horns appearing
light green to white to a pale yellow. The flowers
are located at the intersections of branches and
not at the ends of stems as with the A. viridis
and A. asperula
